This is a water harvesting and land regeneration project by CSRA beside the Kumordihi tribal village. As a pilot, nearly 400 half-moon-shaped holes or bunds are dug into the ground to capture rainwater in this dry region for forest regeneration and agroforestry development. The bunds are designed to allow rainwater to seep into the soil, reaching seeds and roots underground, which helps vegetation recover gradually. In partnership with the villagers, they are working to restore a degraded area of 49600 sqm (124 sqm per bund), and 8.40 lakh litres (2,100 litres per bund) of rainwater can be stored each time the bunds are full. In 2025, 800 forest plants will be planted in August, @2 plants in each bund.
